former president jonathan's cso arrested and detained

Chief Security Officer to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Gordon Obua has been arrested by the Department of State Services and report says the security officer has gone on hunger strike ever since.

He is being suspected of involvement in an alleged movement of large sums of money through the security team as well as oil theft. Mr. Obua was the CSO to Dr. Jonathan for five years.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari has repeatedly promised to recover monies allegedly stolen in the last administration.
Mr. Obua who left office as the CSO on May 29, at the end of his principal’s tenure, has remained on operative of the DSS. He is protesting the condition of his detention since Thursday that he was invited by the Service and then detained.

Apart from being visible around the President anytime he is on official assignment, Mr. Obua will be remembered for sending out the Correspondent of a German radio station who sought for more information from visiting Chadian President, Idriss Derby.

The correspondent had asked President Derby to confirm if South African mercenaries were involved in the war against insurgents.

Others may remember him because of his wife, Dr. Merit Gordon Obua who utilised every opportunity at her disposal to take advantage of her husband’s office at the time to gain popularity and social recognition.

Feelers available to HOMELAND NEWS suggest that Mr. Obua may be making things difficult for the DSS “investigation” and he may be having a long detention.

There is no details yet known about the exact issues being raised against the former CSO but it may not be unconnected with the attempt by the DSS to arrest for National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
