Former Special Adviser to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger Delta Affairs, Kingsley Kuku, has commended the appointment of Brig. General P.T. Boro as the Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme for the former Niger Delta militants.
Mr. Kuku said the appointment is timely and well deserved.
There have been controversies on whether or not the present administration will continue with the few months left in the programme which is meant to end by December, 2015.
The appointment of a new Coordinator for the Amnesty Programme which is with immediate effect is coming at a time when there is need for a quick resolution of issues arising from the delay in the non-payment of allowances to ex-militants.
Brig. General Boro who hails from Torofani, Bayelsa State, until his retirement was the Commandant of the Army Peace Keeping Centre.
