The newly appointed Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr. Emmanuel Kachikwu, has assumed duty at the corporation.
In a brief handover ceremony held at the NNPC Towers, Abuja, Tuesday evening, Dr. Kachikwu began his role as the over-seer of the country’s biggest player in the petroleum sector.
Brief Profile:
Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu is 58 years of age and hails from a peaceful town of Onich Ugbo in Delta State.
He has two wives and holds the title of Odogwu in his home town.
His father who was a Judge was a polygamist too.
The new NNPC boss was the publisher of the popular HINTS magazine and has authored three law books.
Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu left the University of Nigeria with a First Class degree in Law repeated the feat at the Nigerian Law School.
He also holds a Masters and Doctorate Degree in Law from the Harvard Law School.
Dr. Kachikwu’s working career began in the banking industry when he worked with the Nigerian/American Merchant Bank before he moved to Texaco Nigeria Ltd for an eight year spell before joining Exxon Mobil.
He rose to become the Vice Chairman and General Counsel of the multinational where he oversees the compliance policy of the organization. He also advices on issues of compliance regulations and anti-corruption laws.
