Public resistance to the recent increase in pump price of petrol and hike in electricity tariff is not abating soon.
This is because the Trade Union Congress and the Nigerian Labour Congress has warned it will proceed on nationwide mass protest if the hikes are not reversed by the 28th of September.
The National Executive Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress gave teeth to last week’s Central Working Committee’s two-week ultimatum to the federal government.
The CWC of the Congress gave the government two weeks to reverse the recent increase in the pump price of petrol and electricity tariff.
The NEC has now ratified that resolution and organised Labour along with the civil society community says it is set for the mother of all protests.
