Nigeria has recorded 160 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 59,287.

Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Saturday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed that the country also recorded one new COVID-19 related death in the last 24 hours under review.

The new cases were reported from 13 states including the Federal Capital Territory FCT.

According to the Health Agency, of the new cases, 42 were recorded in Rivers, 32 in Lagos, 21 in Plateau and 18 in FCT.

Other states with new cases include, Kaduna-14 Ogun-11 Katsina-10 Kwara-3 Ondo-3 Imo-3 Anambra-1 Abia-1 Oyo-1.

NCDC said till date, 59,287 infections have been confirmed, 50,718 treated and discharged and 1,113 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT.
