Nigeria on Wednesday, recorded 155 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country 59,738.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in a late night tweet on Wednesday.
The Health Agency also disclosed that the country reported no COVID-19 related death in the last 24 hours under review.
The 155 new cases were reported from 8 states including the Federal Capital Territory.
According to NCDC, of the new cases, 84 were recorded in Lagos, 31 in Rivers and 12 in Kaduna.
Other states with new cases include, Osun-10 FCT-7 Oyo-6 Ogun-3 Kwara-2.
NCDC said till date, 59,738 cases have been confirmed, 51,403 treated and discharged and 1,113 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the NCDC Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu has announced that all state in the country now have at least one laboratory for COVID-19 testing.
He tweeted: “We are pleased to announce the inclusion of the Niger State Public Health Laboratory, Minna to the NCDC Molecular Laboratory Network. In 8 months, we have activated at least one laboratory for #COVID19 testing in all 36 +1 states of #Nigeria.
