Nigeria has recorded 163 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 60,266.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in a late night tweet on Sunday.
The Health Agency said the new cases were recorded in 12 states including the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 113 were recorded in Lagos, 21 in Kaduna, 8 in Osun and 5 in Ondo state.
Other states with new cases include, Oyo-5 Ogun-3 Bayelsa-2 Taraba-2 Edo-1 FCT-1 Katsina-1 Plateau-1
Data from the agency website shows that no new COVID-19 related was reported in the last 24 hours under review.
NCDC said till date, 60,266 cases have been confirmed, 51,735 treated and discharged and 1,115 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT Abuja.
Since the virus emerged in China late last year, it has killed over one million worldwide, infected over 36 million, and forced millions out of work as the pandemic batters the global economy.
