Nigeria has recorded 133 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country 61,440.
Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Monday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, disclosed that the country also recorded two new COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours under review.
The Health Agency said the new cases were reported from nine states including the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 90 were recorded in Lagos, 13 in Rivers and 8 in FCT.
Other states with new cases include, Kaduna-8 Oyo-6 Ondo-3 Katsina-2 Nasarawa-2 Plateau-1.
NCDC said till date, 61,440 infections have been confirmed, 56,611 treated and discharged and 1,125 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT.
The health agency said that a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, have continued to coordinate the national response activities across the country.
