The Minster for Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola has recovered a hidden Camara at the Lekki toll gate, Admiralty Circle in Lagos.
Fashola recovered the camara while leading a federal delegation on the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari to commiserate with the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu over the loss of lives and destruction of properties in the violence that rocked the state last week.
The toll gate has served as a rallying points for the #ENDSARS protesters before the peaceful protest was hijacked by hoodlums.
Those in the FG’s entourage include: Ministers of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Mines and Industries, Olamilekan Adegbite, Niyi Adebayo, Trade and Investments and Olorunnibe Mamora, Health state.
Fashola who discovered the camera during an on the spot assessment at the Lekki Toll Gate, subsequently, handed it over to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for forensic analysis and further investigation.
Fashola said the camera must have been planted by some subversive elements priory to the reported shootings for ulterior motives.
The minister, who picked up the camera with an aid of a handkerchief, handed it over to Sanwo-Olu, sating, “I think this will help with the ongoing investigations into the shootings at the Lekki Toll Gate.
“It requires forensic analysis and could be used in the investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding the shootings at the Toll Gate, I believe.”
Meanwhile, Falz who has earned the admiration of many of the protesting youths after his active participation in the #EndSARS protest prior to the lekki shooting has reacted Via his verified Twitter page today.
He wrote: ” Secret camera you know…..
“Must really think we are fucking stupid!
His tweet suggested that he did not buy the story of Fashola discovering a camera. Going by the reactions of people, it was clear why he made the statement.
The place where the ex-governor claimed to have seen a camera was burnt by the police. Also, LASTMA officers were reported to have done a thorough clean up of the place after the incident.
What really happened on that night remains a question begging for answers.
