Nigeria has recorded 113 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 62,224.

Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Tuesday, the  Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, disclosed that the country also recorded three new COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours under review.

The Health Agency said the new cases were reported from 12 states including the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

According to NCDC, of the new cases, 51 were recorded in Lagos, 15 in FCT, 11 in Plateau and 8 in Kaduna state.

Other states with new cases include, Oyo-8 Rivers-8 Ogun-4 Edo-2 Imo-2 Kwara-2 Delta-1 Kano-1.

NCDC said till date, 62,224 cases have been confirmed, 57,916 treated and discharged and 1,135 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT.
