The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 152 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 65,148.
The NCDC disclosed this in a late night tweet via its official tweeter handle on Sunday.
The Health Agency said the new cases were reported from eight states including the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
According to the NCDC, of the new cases 136 were recorded in Lagos, 4 in Niger and 3 in Ekiti state.
Other states with new cases include,2 Kaduna-2 Ogun-2 Taraba-2 FCT-1.
NCDC said till date, 65,148 have been confirmed, 61,073 treated and discharged and 1,163 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT.
It, however, disclosed that there were 2,912 active cases across the country.
The centre said that it had activated a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre at Level III to coordinate the national response activities in the country.
The agency, therefore, advised Nigerians to continue to observe the COVID-19 protocols to stay safe, stressing that the Coronavirus pandemic was not over yet.
“Wear a face mask properly; avoid large gatherings, maintain physical distance from others.
“Let’s work together to protect ourselves and our country,” the centre advised.
