Oyo state Governor, Abiola Ajimobi today inaugurated Oyo State Head of Service, Mr. Soji Eniade, wife of a Peoples Democratic Party senator from the State, Mrs. Alolade Agboola, eighteen other Permanent Secretaries and the Accountant-General, Mr. Oludele‎ Oyadeyi.
The ceremony was witnessed by the PDP senator representing Oyo North, Mr. Hosea Agboola, who is currently the Deputy Chief Whip at the Upper Chamber, and a former commissioner during the administration Adebayo Alao-Akala as governor of the state.
The governor had at an inter-faith service to usher in the new year on January 5 confirmed the appointment of the newly inaugurated senator’s wife and 18 other permanent secretaries and the Head of Service, all of whom had been on acting capacity before then.
At the inauguration ceremony, the governor said that his administration would continue to reward competence and professionalism in the state civil service without political or religious bias.
The governor, who said that his administration would continue to place emphasis on merit above sentiments, added that for an individual to be appointed as a permanent secretary such person must have the requisite professionalism and integrity.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the newly-appointed permanent secretaries, stressing that competence, diligence and integrity were the major considerations for their appointment.
Governor Ajimobi charged the new appointees to be loyal and faithful, and that they should not allow personal interest to override public interest.
In his remarks, the Head of Service said that the state was currently experiencing good governance and that the tempo should be sustained while the new Accountant-General pledged to conform to the high level of integrity being exhibited by Governor Ajimobi.
