Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose on Monday paid an unannounced visit to the State Secretariat where caught over 30 civil servants who came late to work. The governor who arrived at the Secretariat at 8am directed that disciplinary committee be set up to try them and give out appropriate sanctions.

Governor Fayose told the civil servants that the state will require maximum commitment from the them even as it does its best to pay their salaries promptly.
The Head of Service, Dr. Olugbenga, said several warnings, interface and memos have been issued on the need for civil servants to shun lateness and absenteeism.
He noted that, it is time to enforce strict adherence to the civil service rules; adding that, workers have to sit tight and reciprocate the gesture of the government.
