The Peoples Democratic Party has accused the Department of State Service and the Independent National Electoral commission planning to remove some judges who are currently handling election petitions in the country.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh, who spoke in Abuja, said the plan was hatched by the two bodies at the instance of the governing All Progressive Congress, which is desperate to reclaim all states won by the PDP.
The PDP said the Judges pencilled for removal are those who have refused to be compromised in their handling of the election matters
But in a swift reaction, the APC cautioned the PDP to stop painting the judiciary in bad light by suggesting that judges who are sitting over election petitions can be influenced.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Lai Mohammed, accused the PDP of being jittery over the petitions in Rivers, Akwa-Ibom and other states because it stole the votes and so is throwing wild allegations against the Tribunals.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the tribunals to carry out their duties diligently without being intimidated by anyone.
