Serious fighting is reported to be taking place along the Maiduguri-Bama road in Borno State.
It is not clear who are involved in the exchange of gunfire but severe gun battle has raged in the area after the University of Maiduguri towards Usmandi and Malamuri communities.
A curfew is presently in place in the area.
