Two Nigerians, Christian Nnadike and Collins Deke have been sentenced to 12 years in prison each by a Vietnamese court.
They were found guilty of hacking into emails of Vietnamese companies through which they swindled their foreign partners.
Another Nigerian, Mark Mamado Abdalla is currently at large. They operated a scamming ring in Vietnam in collaboration with a Vietnamese female accomplice, Le Thi Kim Quyen who was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Prosecutors had told the court that the group defrauded many unsuspecting victims of over US$150,000 between April and August 2013. Most of this came from the email hacking scheme.
