A Former commissioner for Information and Strategy in Abia state,Anthony Agbazuere, has decried an alleged interference of the Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Mr. Olisah Metu in the choice of a representative for the Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal constituency.

Barr. Agbazuere who is an aspiring for the position is alleging that the national publicity secretary of the Party is making plans to impose his candidate on the constituency.

He therefore wants the national chairman of the party, Adamu Mu’Azu to call Mr. Metu to order, saying “this is Abia state and we are unique, if he so wants to help him badly then let him take him to his state”.

He posited that since Metu’s candidate, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha did not even do well in the state house of Assembly that has only twenty four men, he would be a total failure in a house of over three hundred representatives.

Barr. Agbazuere laid these claims shortly after purchasing his nomination form and expression of interest form from the PDP secretariat in Umuahia to run for the primaries to be the candidate of the party for the Isiala Ngwa North and South federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

He said the constituency has had poor representation for about 12 years, with all their representatives being just “onlookers” at the lower chamber without attracting any federal presence to the area.

According to him, there were calls on him to offer his services to the constituency by his people who have belief in him having looked at his antecedents.

Barr. Agbazuere has been a two time commissioner for Information, an elected local government chairman, and special adviser to the governor on conflict management
