A former Federal Commissioner for Information and vocal leader of the Ijaw nation, Chief Edwin Clark, has left the Peoples Democratic Party.
The elderly Niger Delta activist said this on Wednesday when a group, Think Nigeria First Initiative, paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Abuja but added that he will not join the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Chief Clark was a prominent member of the party for several years. Throughout the presidency of his kinsman, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, he remained solidly behind him until he was defeated in the election in March, 2015.
No reason has been given for Chief Clark’s decision
