The Lagos State Police Command has denied blaming the Nigerian Navy and the Army over the bank robbery that took place in FESTAC area of the state on Tuesday.
Assistant Inspector General of Police, Bala Hassan, who visited the scene of the incident on Thursday, was reported to have blamed the other security agencies for not cooperating with the Police in checking the robbery.
Public Relations Officer of the Zone 2, Adebowale Lawal told newsmen on Friday, that there was no reason for the AIG to have shifted blames to either of the two security agencies over the robbery.
“There is no basis for the allegations that the police shifted blame to the Army and the Navy that they did not respond when they were called.
“In fact, they all gave their assurances that they are ever ready to work with him to ensure that Lagos and Ogun states under the zone are peaceful,” he said.
