Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio over allegations of corruption and money laundering.
Details of the case against the former governor who is now a member of the Senate is not readily available but it will be recalled that Mr. Akpabio had been a subject of speculations recently.
HOMELAND NEWS can report that Senator Akpabio was escorted to the EFCC office by a number of his aides before he was taken in at about 5.30pm.
Some weeks back, the Akwa Ibom State government house was raided by officers of the Department of State Services where unspecified discoveries were made.
