Two female pilgrims, out of the one hundred and ninety one that came from Oyo state, were arrested in Saudi Arabia due to drug related offences.

The arrested pilgrims were found with a banned drug, Tramador.

Secretary to the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Adeleke AbdulKareem, told the News Agency of Nigeria that one of them escaped and the other is still in detention.

Mister AbdulKareem also said two other pilgrims from the state died due to ill health before Arafat Day.

He warned pilgrims to always comply with the rules and regulation of the Saudi Arabia authorities to avoid being arrested or tarnishing the country’s image.
