The Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has fixed tomorrow October 24, to deliver judgment in the petition brought by the All Progressives Congress challenging the election of Governor Nyesom Wike in the April 11th governorship election in the state.
The tribunal fixed the date today after parties in the matter adopted their final written addresses on Thursday.
The judgment will probably close the first round of legal tussle towards the control of the oil rich state of Rivers. For the PDP, this is a tussle that must be won as the treasure will be needed in strengthening and sustaining the party that lost most of is strongholds during the 2015 elections. But for the APC, it is a battle of pride particularly for the former governor who will desire to keep the state he governed for 8 years on his side.
