About 28 people have been arrested in the last one month by the Ondo State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps for traffic offences in Akure and its environs.
This was disclosed on Wednesday in Akure by the Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Ezekiel Son’Allah who said;
“Driving against traffic is a very serious offence. We have already arrested 28 offenders and I want to appeal to motorists to avoid violating traffic rules.
“It is something like this that easily leads to crashes and normally turns to fatal accidents. We must be self-disciplined to maintain your lane. People should avoid moving against the traffic because it is always dangerous.
“It’s more common with motorcycle riders. But, we are still appealing to every road user against using one way because of its nearness to their destinations. We want to be safe and to ensure our safety, everyone must avoid taking one way.
He further warned, “This is an ember period, don’t drink while driving. Respect the FRSC officials and other security agencies on the highways because they are not there to victimise you, but to protect and save you from unforeseen circumstances,”
