The remains of the eight female politicians in Bayelsa State and the driver of the bus who were burnt to death in a ghastly motor accident along the east west road in Rivers State has been laid to rest.
What was left of their bodies were buried at the Yenagoa Cemetery along Azikoro village in the state capital.
President Goodluck Jonathan, his wife Patience, the Bayelsa State Governor Henry Seriake Dickson and many other sympathizers attended the funeral service held at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Center in Yenagoa .
President Jonathan described the death of the women as sad and unimaginable saying that almost all the women that died has personal relationship with him right from when he was the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.
Among those that lost their lives were the wife of the Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government Elizabeth Allison-Oguru and former member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Honourable Ruby Benjamin
