Contrary to reports making the rounds particularly on the social media, Speaker of the Anambra state house of assembly, Chinwe Nwebili says the state legislators are fully behind the governor, Willie Obiano and his administration.
It was reported that after the former governor decamped from APGA that dominates the assembly, the law maker are plotting to impeach the incumbent.
Speaker of the house, Chinwe Nwebili in plenary on Tuesday said the assembly has no such plan. She stressed that the publication is only a product of some idle minds who are far from reality.
The resolution was based on the motion moved by Majority Leader, Halford Oseke and seconded by Tony Muonagor the minority leader. They told the house that the report was baseless and should be disregarded.
Mister Muonagor who belongs to the All Progressives Congress, said that he was supporting the motion based on creditability and flamboyance of leadership shown by the governor in relating to his subjects. This he said was responsible for addressing the security issues tormenting the people for long.
One after another, the 25 lawmakers present at plenary took turn to eulogise the achievements of the governor. They cited some ongoing projects like renovation of about 1,300 schools across the state and award of free education to physically challenged students from primary to tertiary level.
Some of the legislators commended the governor for introducing measures that improved and still improving the internally generated revenue base of the state.
In conclusion, the lawmakers urged the Gov. Obiano not to give them reasons to think along the line of those responsible for the online publication but strife hard to fulfill the expectations of the citizens who voted him into power.
