Ekiti State Government is set to pursue a legal action against Sahara-TV, an online news source, having uploaded an audio recording which purportedly has the voice of last year’s Ekiti State Governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Ayo Fayose seeking Army assistance to rig the June 21 election in the state
The clip has been reportedly recorded and released by one Captain Sagir Koli of the 32nd Artillery Brigade
Others purportedly captured in the recording were Brig. Gen. Aliyu Momoh, Osun State PDP governorship candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore; Minister for Police Affairs, Jelili Adesinyan; and former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, in a meeting where they allegedly gave directives to the military to favour the PDP.
In defense, Governor Fayose dismissed the claim. Special Assistant to the Governor on Information and Civic Orientation, Lanre Ogunsuyi who spoke on behalf of the governor described it as mere claim that did not hold water.
Meanwhile, the former governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi said more evidences would be released that will shock Nigerians
