The Police have confirmed the incident where a boy, identified as Uchechukwu, reportedly stabbed his mother, Eunice Ugwuozor to death in Ubiekpo Abor community in Udi Council Area of Enugu state
Public Relations Officer of the command, Ebere Amaraizu, in a statement made available to HOMELAND NEWS in Enugu, said the victim was asleep when her son allegedly sneaked in and stabbed her to death in the early hours of Thursday last week.
The accused reportedly abandoned the mother’s lifeless body in the house and fled, before he was eventually arrested.
The statement added that the suspected murderer has an unresolved psychological problem.
Mr. Amaraizu further hinted that “operatives of the State Criminal Investigations Division of the Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force have commenced a full scale investigation to unravel the mystery and circumstances surrounding the alleged stabbing to death of the woman by the son.”
While the suspect is in Police custody, the lifeless body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of Our Saviour Hosptal, 9th Mile, in Udi Local Government Area.
