Embattled Iyorchia Ayu, has finally been removed as national Chairman of Nigeria’s opposition party, PDP.

Details of this development is still sketchy but HOMELAND NEWS can confirm that Mr. Ayu is no longer the chairman of PDP.

Mr. Ayu has had a running battle with some key member of party heading into the general elections.

His emergence as the Chairman of the party is said to violate the zoning system where officials of the party come from different regions of the country.

The G-5 governors led by former governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, insisted that the then Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the National Chairman cannot come from the same part of the country, insisting the chairman resigns.

The move was resisted by Mr. Ayu and Atiku Abubakar and the G-5 governors went in different ways with some of them openly supporting presidential candidates of other parties.

We will stay on the story as more information come in.
