GROUP PHOTOGRAPH OF IGP WITH MEMBERS OF BREKETE FAMILY & W

A female Police Sergeant, Ajuma Ibrahim had reasons to smile again today, Wednesday, as the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase ordered the restoration of her salaries stopped by the police owing to her ill health.

Sergeant Ibrahim has not been paid since June 2013. The IGP also ordered the clearance of all arrears.

Her plight was brought to the fore through a reality Radio/TV talk show, ‘Brekete Family.
On today’s edition of the programme, the presenter made a live call to the IGP to intimate him about the poor condition of the police officer. The IGP invited the Talk Show Crew to his office where a deeper clarification was provided to the police boss.

It was discovered that the officer’s inability to fill the required emolument forms and processing the same in compliance to extant regulations led to the salary predicament, or so it was claimed.

The IGP also directed the transfer of the subject from Lagos State Police Command to Force Headquarters Abuja and directed the Force Medical Officer to ensure she gets urgent access to needed and required medical attention.

The Police boss again assured the Public that the Nigeria Police Force is responsive and responsible and that reported issues of neglect in personnel welfare as well as cases of injustice to members of the public would be promptly addressed
