The bring back our girls campaign group have called on the federal government to provide a comprehensive mid-term report of its 6-Week offensive aimed at routing Boko Haram insurgents from the troubled North East.
The group in a press briefing in Abuja which reviewed week-three of the Military’s six-week campaign also called for video evidence of the current counter terrorism operations.
It also wants reports which claimed that military helicopters were seen dropping military hardware in Gombi local government of Adamawa state probed.
The group also insists the federal government should make available to the public the number of terrorists that have been killed so far including those captured alive and the names and number of all liberated towns, villages and local governments including those that are safe for a return of internally displaced persons.
HOMELAND NEWS recalls that after the postponement of the general elections due to security concerns and renewed military offensive against the insurgents, the Bring Back Our Girls group began a 6 weeks countdown for the release of the girls.
A former minister for Education who is one of the campaigners, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili said the group is also interested in supporting the military in ensuring that insurgency is cleared off the country’s territory.
