Corporate-Affairs-Commission

Small Business owners in Nigeria can now register their companies without going through middle men, as the federal government through the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, launched the online Registration Platform on Monday in Abuja.

According to the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, over fifty percent of the nation’s economy operates informally, meaning that some companies are not registered, there workers not recorded and taxes not paid to the government.

The Industry, Trade and Investment minister, Olusegun Aganga is therefore convinced that it will increase the formalization of the economy.

For the Communications Technology minister, Omobola Johnson, it is all part of a coordinated process in getting government activities online, real-time for transparency.

The Registrar General of the CAC, Bello Mahmud, is convinced the online platform will not only make it possible for customers to access and pay for services but also reduce cost and save time in doing business in Nigeria for foreign companies.
