Whether or not Charles Odedo will seek to return to the House of Representatives is no longer an issue of speculation.

The member of the house representing Idemili federal constituency said that by the end of May 2015, he would have spent six years and ten months in the House of Representatives which will be less than two tenures of eight years.

“So ideally, I am going to contest the 2015 election so that I can convincingly say that I completed two tenures in the National Assembly”, he noted

The lawmaker spoke to journalists at Awka shortly after a Peoples’ Democratic Party meeting and argued that contrary to the opinion of some people that he will be going for a third term, his state at the legislative chamber will be about two years less that the stipulated eight years by the time the new assembly will be setting up in June next year.

“…some people are erroneously calling it the third tenure but I am going in to complete the second tenure because I started in 2008”, Odedo emphasized.

On what he has done so far for his constituents, the lawmaker pointed out that he has concluded plans for the presentation of his annual Report Card. That it would include empowerment tools and continuation of his scholarship scheme that would gulp more than N120million.

“In 2011, after about three years in the House, I got overwhelming votes from Idemili North and South. That will tell you that the benefit of my being in the National Assembly is evenly distributed. Our people are happy with me and I will like to continue”.

Mr. Odedo won the last election as the candidate of the ACN where he rode on the strong influence of Dr. Chris Ngige in the area to coast to victory. Now that he has moved to the PDP, the true test of his acceptablility will be seen in the tussle for the PDP ticket in Idemili.

Obinna Chidoka, younger brother to the Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka is expected to renew his bit to return to the house where he was removed in 2008 by the court in favour of Charles Odedo.
