We can now categorically report that Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has seized to be a member of the Peoples Democratic Party. A party that brought him to power as president in 1999.
In a brief event in his residence in Abeokuta, the former President said he is no longer interested in party politics as he has assumed the status of a statesman, locally and internationally.
Chief Obasanjo who had been having a running battle with the federal government and its agents over his recent comments criticizing the activities of government told the dozens of supporters who were with him that Nigeria is for every Nigerian and therefore should not be allowed to collapse.
The former president handed over his party membership card to the ward leader of the party, Sunmonu Oladunjoye who tore it into shreds.
Though those who witnessed the event sang and danced, how PDP will respond to this will be awaited.
