buruj-Kashamu

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency may have fought a lost battle as a Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the agency to vacate the residence of Buruji Kashamu.

NDLEA has since Saturday morning occupied the Lekki residence of the Senator-elect with the intention of arresting him for extradition to US.

The agency said it has received a formal extradition request from the government of the United States of America and is processing a court order to that effect.

Trial judge, Ibrahim Buba on Tuesday ruled that the NDLEA’s action amounts to sub judice and ordered the Nigerian Police to ensure that NDLEA operatives vacate the drug suspect’s residence.

NDLEA is expected to pursue other legal means of securing the arrest of Buruji Kashamu who is in the center of a drug cartel in the US over 20 years ago.
