LEADERS of the Peoples Democratic Party in Nasarawa State have called on President Goodluck Jonathan to declare a state of emergency in the state, because of what they described as gravious level of criminality and ethnic cleansing going on there.
Speaking through the state PDD, Yunana Iliya, the leaders lamented that the security situation in the state had worsened in recent weeks, following the alleged importation of large number of mercenaries that had embarked on widespread destruction of villages, towns and communities across the state.
The politicians warned that mercenaries, who had destroyed more than 20 towns and villages, need to be arrested and prosecuted to stem the tide of violence in the state.
