Okafia, Igbere in Bende Local Government Area of Abia state today stood still as the remains of media Icon and Associate Publisher of Entertainment Express newspapers, Dimgba Igwe was laid to rest.

Tears flowed freely as family and friends mourned the death of the man who rose to the apex of journalism in the Country and was respected for his writings.

Dimgba Igwe who was one of the founding editors of The Sun Newspapers was killed by a hit-and-run driver on Saturday, September 6 while he was jogging on the street in Lagos.

The funeral service was graced by prominent Nigerians and media associates, including former Governor of Abia state, and publisher of Sun Newspapers, Orji Uzo Kalu who also hail from same community with the late Igwe.

Governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano was represented by the commissioner for Information, Tony Onyima. Also in attendance were group managing Director of Complete Sport Newspaper, Mumuni Alao; Chief executive officer, Neo Media Limited, Ehi Braimah.
