Morocco on Wednesday recalled its ambassador to Nigeria for immediate consultations over an issue that is fast developing into a diplomatic row.
The country’s foreign affairs ministry accused the Nigerian government of allegedly using King Mohammed the 6th in an election campaign.
It would be recalled that the Federal Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday released a statement that President Goodluck Jonathan was not snubbed by the Moroccan monarch but had indeed spoken to him.
In a surprise twist however, Morocco’s foreign ministry responded by saying there has never been a phone conversation between the two men.
HOMELAND NEWS was told by the Nigerian foreign ministry spokesperson said the Federal Government had not been notified of the development.
