It is still unclear how many people that died in the twin car bomb explosion in Kano today.
The explosion took place at the Central Mosque, not far away from the Emir’s palace.
Witnesses told journalists that the bomb went off as worshippers at the mosque prepared for their Friday jumaat prayers, causing serious pandemonium as people ran helter-skelter for dear lives.
The explosion, which went off at about two p.m. before the Imam of the mosque, Sani Zahradeen, began his sermon, was said to have been followed by sporadic gunshots.
Already the police have cordoned off the entire area while the entire mosque was deserted
