Former commissioner for Information in Abia state and Human Rights Activist, Dr. Anthony Agbazuere has appealed to the abductors of the state correspondent of The Nation Newspapers, Ugochukwu Ugoji Eke to set him free unconditionally.
Reacting to Sunday’s kidnap of the journalist, Dr. Agbazuere condemned the act, describing it as ignoble and despicable.
He charged the perpetrators of the act to channel their energy to meaningful venture and drop the business of kidnapping saying it serves no one any good.
He said they should always have a rethink of their activities knowing that all those who towed that part ended badly.
According to Dr. Agbazuere, those engaged in such are enemies of the state working to taint the image of the state, after the government worked hard to achieve the peace in the state.
Dr. Agbazuere also urged the kidnappers to surrender and assured that he would use his influence to protect them from the wrath of the law and government if they give up their shady business.
