The House of Representatives says it will no longer tolerate unnecessary recycling of capital projects in the budget without due regard to essential projects that will engender sustainable development.

Chairman, House Committee on Finance, James Faleke, stated this at an interactive session with Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government on the 2022-2024 MTEF and FSP.

The MTEF is a major feature of annual budget presentation cycle which provides the basic estimates and assumptions for the annual budget.

The committee urges all federal MDAs to scale down on white elephant projects in their budget proposals.

This will help in shoring up revenue for critical infrastructure and development of capital resources with direct impact on the people.
