The Academic Union of Universities has hinted on the possibility of another industrial action by the end of this month of August.

The threat is hinged on the federal government’s failure to sign the draft of the renogatiated agreement of May, 2021.

The union at its national executive council meeting in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, says government should be held responsible for the possible industrial disharmony.

ASUU national president, Prof Victor Emmanuel says the union hopes the government will urgently sign the agreement to sustain and improve on the current industrial peace on the university campuses.

Universities in Nigeria returned to full activities in January after nearly one year of shutdown due to a strike embarked upon by lecturers.

Some Institutions are still struggling to cover up the academic calendar distorted by the strike.
