Kano State Government has revoked operations certificate of all private schools in the state.
The action was prompted by the killing of a 5-year-old, Hanifa Abubakar by her teacher.
The Government has directed all the schools to visit the state Ministry of Education for revalidation.
The state commissioner for Education, Muhammad Sanusi Kiru announced the government’s decision shortly after a state Magistrate Court remanded three persons accused of Hanifa’s murder.
The Commissioner noted that a panel has been constituted comprising officials from the Ministry of Justice, Department of State Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the private school owners Association.
Abdulmalik Mohammed Tanko who was the school teacher to the 5-year-old kidnapped her to extort money from her parents.
He admitted to have killed her with rat poison after he realized that the little girl recognized him.
