Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu has advocated setting aside of a special national day of prayer in Nigeria, as obtained in the United States of America.
Such annual event according to Senator Ekweremadu will be dedicated for thanksgiving as well as prayers for peace and prosperity of Nigeria both at the states.
He made the suggestion on sunday during the annual thanksgiving service organised by Aninri local Government Council of Enugu State, where he hails from.
He also spoke about some of the benefits of thanksgiving in his life and that of the council area since the inception of the annual spiritual exercise in the locality.
“It is since the inception of this thanksgiving and prayer service that we started recording massive infrastructural developments like the construction of the Ivo Dam projects, the Oduma – Nnewe road projects and so many ongoing projects in the area.
“I therefore which to recommend it to the Good people of Enugu State and indeed Nigeria .
