All is now set for the grand finale of the Ito Ogbo Obosi, 2021, which began on Monday.
The week-long event which has existed for over four centuries, is the celebration of life for any age grade that hits the landmark age of 80 in Obosi kingdom.
On Friday, the traditional ruler of the town, His Majesty, Igwe Chidubem Iweka III, will receive the delegation of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture on a courtesy visit.
The team will be in Obosi to observe the rich cultural content of the Ito Ogbo, as part of efforts to enlist the ceremony on the UNESCO’s record of world leading cultural events.
On Saturday, over a hundred and forty members of the Igwebuike age grade will be capped by the Igwe Obosi, in an event that will bring the Ito Ogbo ceremony to its peak.
Each participant assumes the esteemed title of Ogbueshi for the men and Nwanyinokwudo-eshi for the women.

Igwe Iweka III had assured of top security arrangement in all parts of the town.
The traditional ruler also introduced few changes in this year’s edition in line with recommended protocols for the covid-19 pandemic.
Over the week, various activities like football matches, lectures, beauty pageant and health talks, have prepared the ground for what is promising to be the big one on Saturday.
