The European Union has urged the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that Nigerians enjoyed the democracy dividends.
EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Michel Arrion, made the call at the Europe Day twenty fifteen in Abuja.
“Democracy without a corresponding improvement in standard of living means nothing to the common man”, Mister Arrion argued.
The EU envoy reminded the President-elect of his promises before, during and after the elections to end insurgency, eradicate corruption and restore the country’s economy on proper footing.
He said that these goals set for the incoming government match closely the European Union’s vision for the country.
“Let me add a fourth objective that is very important for the European Union: regional integration,” he said.
