Special Assistant to the President on public affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe has urged lawmakers to use the closure of the National Assembly to deliberate on the request for the extension of the State of Emergency.
Dr. Okupe was reacting to the invasion of the National Assembly by the police today.
He described the incident as unfortunate but was silent in either condemning or justifying the police operation.
Dr. Okupe stressed that consideration of national interest should be paramount for people elected to serve the public instead of party interests.
