The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission says that the former Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro has been released on administrative bail.
The ICPC confirmed to HOMELAND NEWS that he was invited for questioning over ongoing investigation into an allegation that he had defrauded the Police Service Commission of over N500m during his tenure as the chairman of the commission.
The ICPC said it received a petition from a staff of the commission which highlighted several shady practices by the former Inspector General of Police.
It also added that Mr. Okiro had used his position to obtain about N350m from the office of the National Security Adviser for the pre-election training of police officers but failed to do so and instead claimed the training had taken place.
