Former Governor of Oyo State Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala has formally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the labour party.

Mr. Akala left with thousands of his supporters on Monday evening at his Bodija residence and said that the decision was based on the demand by his teeming supporters to quit PDP.

At an enlarged meeting of stake holders in Ibadan some of the leaders of the party who were sympathetic to his course said the reason behind the call to quit PDP was because of the insincerity and injustice in the party.

Mr. Akala’s media aide, Abraham ojo in a press statement said thousand of Akala followers deliberated on their future in the PDP and resolved to pitch their tent with the Labour Party.

Among the Party Leaders at the meetings were chief Jacob Adetoro, Chief Adigun Irawo, Gen Braimoh rtd, past commissioners, Local Government chairmen, among others.

Akala maintained that he was collapsing his structures in the PDP into his new labour party with a view to allowing the national leadership of PDP have their way to allow what he called the minority to control the party.

It will be recalled that the former governor on Monday lost the gubernatorial primary of the PDP to former senate leader, Teslim Folarin.
