The French government has claimed ownership of the aircraft impounded in Kano which was allegedly laden with arms and ammunitions.
A representative of the French government in company with Nigeria’s Chief of Air staff spoke to newsmen in Abuja and dismissed claims that the military hardware inside the aircraft was intended for Boko Haram insurgents.
According to reports, the aircraft, a Russian made Antonov 124 aircraft recently detained at the Aminu Kano International airport was laden with Military hardware.
This caused widespread panic among Nigerians as many were quick to claim the owners of the aircraft had intended the hardware for Boko Haram insurgents who have waged a war with the Nigerian Government in the last five years.
The Chief of Air Staff also added that due procedures were followed and no party in this issue disobeyed Nigerian laws.
