President Goodluck Jonathan met with elder statesman General Theophilus Danjuma at State House, Abuja for about fifteen minutes on Wednesday morning
He met with the retired General on a day the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting did not hold
HOMELAND NEWS recalls that when President Jonathan sought legitimacy early in his foray into governance he had a Presidential Advisory Council which was headed by the rather taciturn but straight talking General. For some reason that council wound up when the President had settled comfortably
The General’s mission this time could not be ascertained but it is obvious that it is very important to the President that he is seen to be on good terms with the elder statesman
But how much mileage that may give to the President’s dogged campaign to return to power, is another story for another day
